Getting Back On Track
I am finally starting to feel like my life is getting back in order.
First, my kitchen ceiling was finally fixed this weekend. Yay! I like having a flat, even ceiling. My bathroom ceiling, which had some minor damage from a leak two years ago, also got repaired. I didn’t know the contractors were going to do that so it was a welcome surprise. After the contractors left (and they were the tidiest contractors I’ve encountered), I took this as an opportunity to do a thorough cleaning of the kitchen, move around the furniture, and get rid of junk. I can’t tell you what a great feeling it was to see the final results of my work.
Next, I ordered more yarn to finish my cropped cardi. Amazingly, I found the color AND the right dye lot at Yarnela. They were very friendly and helpful to me. I also want to put out again a HUGE !thank you! to my KB@W who did the search on the links for my yarn. I could not have found that yarn without your help.
The rest of December is all Christmas for me. I’m very much in the Christmasy mood. So far, I have organized my Christmas card list. I’m going to put my tree up this week (it’s a retro silver tree and I love it!). I braved the crowds at Target on Atlantic Avenue to buy Christmas linens and ornaments for my table (that was absolutely insane). Starting the holiday baking - I’m planning to bake my cranberry pistachio biscotti Wednesday night. I bought some gifts for my honey tonight (I’ve discovered shopping on a Monday night is relatively calm), and I’m buying the rest of my gifts online.
Speaking about the season of giving - I’m going to make a plug for Heifer International. If you are looking for a knitting related gift that will also do a lot of good, you can buy a share in the Knitting Basket (two llamas and two sheep to help a struggling family), a share in a sheep or llama, and many other types of livestock to assist impoverished families.
The next project to tackle is this blog!
