Delicasyarns Two Heart Crochet Patterns

Posted in Crochet at 2:28 pm by delipics

With all the studying, quick projects are so satisfying.  This is the first time I’ve written a pattern out so please let me know if there are any mistakes.  Thanks!

Yarn and gauge:  I just used some Kool-Aid dyed yarn I had around the house and picked a hook that looked right:  Heart #1 - J hook and Heart #2 F hook.  You can really go with what feels right for you.  If you’re not sure, check the label of your yarn and what it recommends for crochet hook size.

Heart #1

Row1: chain 11 stitches

Row2: skip 1st chain stitch and single crochet in each chain stitch to end of row. Chain 1 stitch, turn to begin next row.

Row3: Skip 1st stitch and single crochet across until last stitch in row; two single crochet in last stitch of row

Row4: Chain 1 stitch, turn to begin next row; single crochet to end of row.

Row5: Repeat row 4

Row6: Chain 1 stitch, turn to begin next row.  Skip first two stitches then single crochet to end of row.

Row7: Chain 1 stitch, turn to begin next row.  Crochet five single crochet stitches. (This is the V in the heart.)

Things Are Pretty Slow Around Here

Posted in Knitting, Socks at 5:54 pm by delipics

Well, actually what is slow is the amount of knitted projects I want to make. I’m only working on one project right now - the socks for my honey’s birthday - and I have only one other project in mind for the rest of this spring - a baby project for another expectant mother/friend. I only have these two projects because I’m busy with the non-fiber part of my life. Spring semester class started and I’m also studying intensely for a professional certificate test in June. My life is reading homework, highlighters, flashcards, papers and more reading. These are all good things to be happening for me but it makes for less knitting time. I really value the time I can find to knit now. As soon as I have something worthwhile to show, I’ll post pictures of the socks.
